Kentrosaurus gains a defensive stance that reflects damage back at the attacker, a mechanic set to extend to the ceratopsians. The skin picker is reworked: colours applied per texture and themed palettes. Oviraptor gets sounds of its own, between parrot calls and clicking. Quetzalcoatlus is taking shape as a stealthy predator.
In The Isle Evrima, Kentrosaurus has a defensive stance that reflects damage back to attackers who hit its spikes. This damage reflection system is designed to extend to ceratopsians and other animals with natural defenses. The February 2026 dev blog presents this mechanic as a key addition ahead of the next HordeTest.
Oviraptor sounds in The Isle Evrima were designed to reflect its avian character. Sound designer Wedge combined edited parrot chirps, screeches and squawks with squeals and goblin-like clicks, evoking the egg-thief role. Sound sources include crow coos, Tasmanian devil, rapid small bird beak clacks and honey badger for breathier clicking elements.
In The Isle's February 2026 dev blog, Quetzalcoatlus is designed as a stealthy, deadly and deceptively alert predator. Animation supervisor KissenKitten describes measured and elusive animations, with an unnerving silhouette in the darkness when striking. The goal is for playing Quetz to feel unique to The Isle — disappearing into the background and coming out of nowhere.
