Rules for La Meute QC's The Isle: Evrima server — 40 rules across 6 sections: packs and herds, inter-species relations, hunting and combat, juvenile protection, general server rules and Discord conduct. Every rule draws on documented paleontological evidence rather than arbitrary restrictions.

Server philosophy: La Meute QC plays in behavioral realism mode. Rules are based on real paleontology — not arbitrary rules, but simulating what these animals would have actually done. Embody your species with authenticity.

Packs & HerdsREALISM

Fossil evidence indicates very species-specific social behaviors. T-Rex was probably solitary or lived in pairs — not multi-species packs. Maiasaura nested in massive colonies.

✅T-Rex / Deinosuchus: solo or pair (same species only). Pair = 2 max.
✅Allosaurus / Ceratosaurus / Carnotaurus: max 3 together.
✅Omniraptor / Troodon / Herrerasaurus / Dilophosaurus: max 5-6, pack hunters.
⚠️Herbivores (Trike, Stego, Maiasaura...): mixed herds tolerated DURING MIGRATION only — natural behavior. No permanent static mixed groups.
✅Gallimimus / Beipiaosaurus (omnivores): can temporarily follow a herbivore herd during migration.
❌Mixing carnivore species in the same pack is forbidden.

Inter-Species RelationsREALISM

A T-Rex and a Carnotaurus didn’t team up — they competed for the same prey and killed each other if given the chance. However, inter-species scavenging (small ones stealing from large kills) is documented in nature.

⚠️Mixed herbivore herds tolerated during migration — natural animal behavior. Static multi-species group = unrealistic, avoid.
✅A smaller carnivore can scavenge from an apex kill — but yields priority to the apex.
✅Territorial combat between two apex of the same species allowed — the loser leaves the area.
❌Two carnivore species cannot be allied or travel together permanently.
❌An apex carnivore cannot escort or defend a herbivore (symbiosis impossible between these species).

Hunting & CombatCONDUCT

In nature, predators abandon the hunt when the energy cost becomes too great. Prey ‘torture’ doesn’t exist — you kill to eat, quickly. A wounded predator always prefers to flee rather than die needlessly.

✅Hunt to eat — leave the body or allow scavengers to approach afterwards.
✅A cornered herbivore can defend its life — defensive combat is always allowed.
✅Fleeing when wounded (bleeding, fracture) is realism, not cowardice — and is strongly encouraged.
✅Abandon the chase if prey moves 200m+ away or changes biome — energy realism.
❌Gratuitous KOS without feeding or territorial reason (killing for the sake of killing).
❌Wounding without finishing — deliberately letting a prey agonize (player torture).
❌Camping and killing juveniles repeatedly at the same spot (spawn kill / harassment).

Juvenile ProtectionPROTECTION

Maiasaura nests with parental care have been formally documented. Parental behavior is assumed in T-Rex (nesting site discoveries). In nature, even predators avoid risky fights for ‘a small meal’ — a juvenile isn’t worth a serious injury.

✅Adults of the same species can escort and defend juveniles of their species.
✅A juvenile that lies down motionless (surrender) can be spared at the predator’s discretion.
✅An adult herbivore can chase away a small carnivore threatening its juveniles — realistic maternal behavior.
❌Killing juveniles repeatedly at the same spot is harassment — immediate sanction.
