Director's Commentary 2: the island is finalised, mangroves completed and small AI-driven wildlife added — rats, lizards, insects. The dome gains four massive entrances and shortcuts reserved for climbers. The angler Austroraptor and the egg-thief Oviraptor arrive at the next HordeTest, Avaceratops becomes playable, and Quetzalcoatlus comes to life.
In The Isle Evrima, Oviraptor is a small omnivore that can scent active nests from other species containing eggs. Stealing an egg provides a significant nutrient bonus. Parents can recover the egg and carry it back to the nest. This egg-theft ability remains exclusive to Oviraptor according to director Dondi's April 2026 dev blog.
The dome in The Isle Evrima has four major entrances wide enough for several of the largest playable dinosaurs simultaneously. Side paths — pipes, broken service sections — serve as shortcuts for smaller creatures and climbers. Interiors were widened to avoid death corridors, making it possible to traverse and avoid encounters by taking alternate routes.
According to The Isle's April 2026 dev blog, Avaceratops launches as a full playable with a sparring suite. Director Dondi describes it as an ornery, aggressive, burrow-stealing ceratopsian meant to eclipse the boar as the island's most aggressive creature. The concept: 'you exist, so you must die.' It's officially omnivorous with a meat-eating animation.
