The Deinosuchus Lunge captures any prey under 4 tons in The Isle: Evrima. That covers almost all playable dinosaurs except the heaviest land Apexes. With 8,000 HP and 600 damage, the Deino on La Meute QC is an absolute threat in water — prey that enters a river without checking can be grabbed in under a second.
Juvenile Deino with 18 stamina and 21 km/h on land is nearly dead on land. ALWAYS stay in or within 3 meters of the bank. Eat fish and small prey that approach the water. Your underwater camouflage is active even as a juvenile — use it to blend into the bottom and wait for prey to drink.
In water, yes — the Deino (8,000 HP, Lunge, perfect camouflage) has a huge advantage over the Rex (9,350 HP, unable to swim effectively). On land, the tables turn: Rex with 850 damage and Bone Break will destroy a Deino away from water. Advice on La Meute QC: never face a Rex more than 5 meters from the bank.
