A small update between two majors: a cockpit option lets you disable the Target-based Gyro and return to Space Engineers 1 handling. Speed particles become less obtrusive, with subtler smoke on planets and less opaque particles in space. A shutdown crash is fixed, and Survival test mods are released alongside.

Space Engineers 2's Community Feedback Update 2 adds an option on the Cockpit block to disable the Target-based Gyro and bring back SE1-style steering. On by default (SE2 behavior preserved), the option applies per individual cockpit. This between-majors update responds directly to community feedback ahead of VS2.3, summarized by La Meute QC.
Keen Software House released three Survival mods to test the opening experience before rolling it into VS2.3: the Balancing Iteration Mod, Classic Survival Start, and Planetary Start with No Tutorial. These mods let the community test adjustments (balancing, guideless planetary start) and give feedback before any official deployment in Space Engineers 2.
Following community feedback, Space Engineers 2 speed particles were toned down: on planets, high-speed feedback now uses subtler smoke instead of aggressive effects, and in space, particles are less opaque so they no longer block the player's view. A crash when shutting down the game was also fixed in this same update.
