Windrose's Ashlands biome is a volcanic region blanketed in ash from an ancient eruption, tied to the game's supernatural corruption lore. Its signature mechanic involves using a pickaxe to dig beneath volcanic ash and uncover buried secrets and treasure — an entirely new vertical exploration system. Announced in May 2026 by Kraken Express, its release is estimated for fall 2026.
Before the Ashlands biome launches (estimated fall 2026), Kraken Express plans to deliver over 40 new building pieces and over 50 quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. The windrose.support player feedback platform will also launch. The global roadmap confirms 1.5–2.5 years of Early Access, no microtransactions, PvE only. The price is $39.99 CAD.
