Kraken Express ships a new Steam Cloud Saves system to fix corrupted save issues. The game now backs up automatically every ten minutes and on exit, a corrupted file no longer blocks loading, a recovery interface appears at startup, older saves migrate on their own and D-pad mapping is fixed.

In Windrose, if patch 0.10.0.5.120 detects a corrupted save at startup, a recovery window appears. The player can quit to attempt a Steam Cloud resync, or recover data from the most recent available automatic backup. If old files cannot be migrated, a notification lists affected files and offers to delete them.
After Windrose patch 0.10.0.5.120, characters created before version 0.10.0.4 cannot be deleted due to Steam Cloud synchronization. This bug is known and will be fixed in a future patch. Additionally, game settings are reset during the update — it is recommended to note them manually before installing the patch.
