Tyrannosaurus is a genus of coelurosaurian theropod. The species Tyrannosaurus rex (rex meaning "king" in Latin), often called T. rex, is one of the best-represented large theropods. It lived in western North America, then an island continent called Laramidia, and had a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Its fossils date to the Maastrichtian at the end of the Cretaceous, 68 to 66 million years ago. It was the last known tyrannosaurid and one of the last non-avian dinosaurs before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction. With a highly developed sense of smell, it could track prey for miles. Tyrannosaurus belongs to the family Tyrannosauridae: a massive predator 12 m long and 9–13 tonnes.
🦴 Full scientific profileT-Rex has a group slot size of only 2 and recovery of 2/5. Solo with Lone Hunter (+10% damage), Face Tank (-30% damage taken to head/neck/chest) and Deep Rumble (-20% incoming damage for 30s), it can stand up to most. On La Meute QC, its slow growth and huge Hypercarnivore appetite make progression tough — secure a hunting territory early.
Tyrannosaurus has damage at 5/5 and defense at 4/5 — among the best combinations in the game for a large terrestrial carnivore. Its land speed is 3/5, decent for its size. Compared to Pycnonemosaurus (speed 5/5 but more fragile), T-Rex is slower but takes hits from Riparia's large herbivores much better.
Tyrant Roar increases the attack of all tyrannosaurs in your group within 30m for 1 minute, stacking up to 4 times. On La Meute QC, a T-Rex duo with Tyrant Roar active can each build 2 stacks — a significant combined damage increase. It's one of the rare family synergies that truly rewards playing in a group with the same species.
