Microraptor zhaoianus
Nicknames : Micro
A tiny upcoming feathered carnivore. Once added, it will be the smallest playable creature in Path of Titans.
On La Meute QC's Path of Titans server, Microraptor (Microraptor zhaoianus) is a carnivore of the Terrestrial class. Growth is earned by staying alive, with no teleport.
Microraptor will be a very small dinosaur, with less than a 1-metre wingspan, and the smallest playable creature when added. It will be able to climb trees and glide from trunk to trunk, opening unique gameplay: staying out of reach of predators, but limited by its tiny size to hunting small AI creatures or scavenging.
Microraptor is a genus of small, four-winged paravian dinosaurs. Numerous well-preserved fossils come from Liaoning, China, dating to the Early Cretaceous Jiufotang Formation (Aptian), 120 million years ago. Three species have been named (M. zhaoianus, M. gui and M. hanqingi), though recent studies suggest they represent a single species, M. zhaoianus. Adults averaged 0.7 m and 0.5 kg. Microraptor belongs to the clade Microraptoria, within the family Dromaeosauridae.
🦴 Full scientific profileYes, upon release Microraptor will claim the title of smallest playable creature, overtaking Rhamphorhynchus which currently holds that record. With a wingspan under 1 metre, it will be limited to small AI prey and scavenging. On a server like La Meute QC, its gameplay will focus on stealth and avoiding large predators.
Microraptor will be able to climb trees and glide from trunk to trunk — a unique playstyle no other current playable has. This lets it stay out of reach of land predators. It's a stretch goal planned after full release, so not yet available on La Meute QC.
Yes, Microraptor's all-black skin in Path of Titans is based on fossilised melanosomes found in feather specimens from the Liaoning Formation, dating 120 million years ago. It's one of the rare cases where a dinosaur's colour is directly documented by fossils rather than being speculative.
