Varanus priscus
Nicknames : Meg · Mega · Lizard
A medium-sized terrestrial carnivore. Once its prey is envenomated by its stamina-hindering bite, escape becomes almost impossible. It also has some affinity for water.
On La Meute QC's Path of Titans server, Megalania (Varanus priscus) is a carnivore of the Terrestrial class rated 2/5 for damage, 2/5 for defence, 4/5 for land speed and 4/5 for survivability, taking 2 group slots. Growth is earned by staying alive, with no teleport.
An enormous monitor lizard, Megalania walks with sprawled limbs and swims in an eel-like motion. Low to the ground and well camouflaged, it effortlessly hides in foliage and creeps up on unsuspecting prey. Within range, it can burst forward and bite, injecting venom into the wounds.

Megalania refers to an extinct giant monitor lizard, recognised as Megalania prisca or, more recently, Varanus priscus. It was part of the megafauna that inhabited southern Australia during the Pleistocene. The youngest known fossils date to about 50,000 years ago; the first humans to reach Australia may have encountered it and contributed to its extinction. Adults averaged 6 metres long and 600 kg. Megalania belongs to the family Varanidae.
🦴 Full scientific profileMostly terrestrial with some aquatic efficiency, Megalania is one of two playable animals with a venomous bite. High speed but low stamina regen unless resting: it is a burst attacker.
An ambush hunter: get as close as possible before striking, apply as much damage and venom as you can, then follow the prey to prevent it from resting and recovering. Targeting resting or sleeping enemies is the ideal tactic.
Megalania's venomous bite drains the target's stamina, making escape nearly impossible. On La Meute QC's realistic survival server, this mechanic is deadly: a venomated prey trying to flee runs out of stamina in seconds. Pair it with Toxic Scream (+50% venom damage for 10s) to maximize pressure.
Yes, but its group slot size is capped at 2. Duoing with another Megalania, All For One stacks up to +8% damage per medium carnivore (max 5 stacks). Compared to Metriacanthosaurus (also size 2 groups), Megalania brings venom where Metri brings heals — both complement each other well for a pair.
Megalania has a land speed of 4/5, making it a fast attacker for its tier, but a water speed of only 1/5. On La Meute QC, avoid the flooded areas of Riparia and stick to tall grass for ambushes, where its natural camouflage is most effective.
