Latenivenatrix ("hiding huntress") is a genus of troodontid known from one species, L. mcmasterae, described in 2017 from remains formerly identified as Troodon. With an estimated skull length of 45 centimetres, it is the largest known troodontid. It belongs to the subfamily Troodontinae, within the family Troodontidae. Its validity is debated, however: since 2021, several researchers consider it a synonym of Stenonychosaurus.
🦴 Full scientific profileYes — Moonlight Hunter grants +15% damage and +10% speed at night, Nocturnal gives +50% stamina recovery at night, Night Stalker gives +50% bleed healing at night, and Call of the Night Terrors boosts each group Laten by +15% stamina and damage. On La Meute QC, playing Latenivenatrix at night is a complete strategy in itself.
Yes — Latenivenatrix's Hiss reduces incoming damage by 50% for 60 seconds, significantly stronger than Deinocheirus's Hiss (15%). Given Latenivenatrix's low 2/5 defense and 4/5 survivability, this buff is critical on La Meute QC to survive the opening seconds of an engagement against a large carnivore.
Both are groupSlotSize 1 raptors, but Latenivenatrix is larger (largest known troodontid) with 5/5 speed and a full night kit. Deinonychus has Lucky Feather (guaranteed single-death survival) and Pack Hunter (group-size-based buffs). On La Meute QC, Latenivenatrix excels in nighttime raids using Bark (+attack to all raptors within 30m), while Deinonychus is more unpredictable as a solo.
