Why this is a big release
The LEGO Batman franchise hadn't had a main entry since LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham in 2014. Unusual for a LEGO game: some villains will be playable in their own campaign arcs, with objectives sometimes aligned with Batman and sometimes in direct opposition.

LEGO Batman Legacy is shaping up as the family game of 2026. If you have kids or want an accessible game to play as a couple or in a group without friction, this is probably the best choice of the year for that. The LEGO formula is proven, and Legacy's stated ambition suggests TT Games wants to return to Skywalker Saga levels.
For solo players looking for depth: wait for reviews. LEGO open worlds can quickly become repetitive if content density doesn't deliver.
