LEGO Batman Legacy — the Dark Knight returns in bricks
Open world Gotham, 150+ DC characters, local multiplayer — LEGO Batman is back
LEGO Batman Legacy is announced by TT Games for 2026 on all platforms. Open world Gotham, 150+ DC characters, local and online multiplayer, next-gen graphics. We separate what we actually know from rumor as of May 24, 2026.

Why this is a big release
The LEGO Batman franchise hadn't had a main entry since LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham in 2014. Twelve years later, TT Games puts the cape and mask back on with Legacy, a title that clearly wants to fix the shortcomings of the last LEGO DC games: real open world, online multiplayer, and visual ambition we haven't seen in a LEGO game since LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
LEGO Batman Legacy clearly targets the family/all-ages market, but with a level of polish that should satisfy players who grew up with the first episodes. It's the same bet as Skywalker Saga — an accessible but not condescending game.
Open world Gotham — what it changes
TT Games shows in trailers a fully explorable Gotham on foot, by vehicle or by flight for characters that allow it. The city is divided into recognizable districts — the Narrows, Midtown, Diamond District, the docks — with random events and hidden collection challenges.
- 150+ playable DC characters, including costume variants for Batman (Dark Knight, Rebirth, Beyond)
- Collectible and customizable vehicles (Batmobile, Batwing, etc.)
- 2-player local split-screen + online co-op up to 4 players
- Photo mode for LEGO screenshot fans
Confirmed villains
The trailer shows the Joker as the main antagonist, but also Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Bane and Catwoman in roles more complex than in older episodes. TT Games seems to draw from comic book arcs for villain missions rather than sticking to the films.
Unusual for a LEGO game: some villains will be playable in their own campaign arcs, with objectives sometimes aligned with Batman and sometimes in direct opposition.
Date and price
Warner Bros. Games targets a holiday 2026 release — probably October or November to capture the gift market. Standard price is expected at $59.99 USD (approximately $82 CAD) on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
| Platform | Estimated CAD price |
|---|---|
| PS5 | ~82 $ CAD |
| Xbox Series X|S | ~82 $ CAD |
| Switch 2 | ~82 $ CAD |
| PC (Steam) | ~68 $ CAD |
| Xbox Game Pass | Probable dès sortie |
Who's it for — La Meute QC verdict
LEGO Batman Legacy is shaping up as the family game of 2026. If you have kids or want an accessible game to play as a couple or in a group without friction, this is probably the best choice of the year for that. The LEGO formula is proven, and Legacy's stated ambition suggests TT Games wants to return to Skywalker Saga levels.
For solo players looking for depth: wait for reviews. LEGO open worlds can quickly become repetitive if content density doesn't deliver.
